Day 10- Scopes, Sleepovers and Miracles

I had my cystoscopy today in the labor and delivery OR.
The doctors are super nice as they prep me... I took a picture of the camera they stick up me. Do you see that long, black wire thing? Yeah, they put that where things like that should never go... (the light at the end is the camera).

I brought my camera because I wish I had taken pictures last time.
Last time there was a pretty, white balloon-like bladder, with a large, red, cancer-like, placenta varicose vein looking thing near one of my ureters. It was very obvious and very scary looking.

This time, it was gone. There was NOTHING there. Nothing. Just the whiteness of the bladder... Some bumps suggesting veins near the bladder, but nothing abnormal in the bladder. Nothing near my ureters. I kept asking where that growth went and that said, "Well, it's definitely not here. Sometimes things change".

My urologist doesn't think they even need to put in stents before my surgery. She still thinks they will probably have to repair the bladder as they take the placenta out from around it- but she thinks it will be a minor repair.

I was shocked.  It wasn't until I called Todd to tell him about it that he said, "Jen-- this is a miracle!" He saw my last scan with me.  You should have seen that placenta so obviously invading my bladder and it is gone.

I am completely surprised and humbled and so grateful.  My doctors kept telling me that the reason I needed to terminate my pregnancy was because as the weeks progressed my placenta would continue to grow and invade my other organs.  Things were just supposed to get worse, nobody ever suggested for a moment that things could get better.  What a surprise for all of us!

I have never expected that this trial would be removed from me and I understand that this is just one small thing in the midst of many health concerns.  I still have a lot to endure.

Thank you for your prayers!!

Anna and Drew came for a sleepover last night. We had fun watching movies, cross stitching, eating snacks and just hanging out together. It is so fun to spend time with my sweet kids!!

Tomorrow I am 30 weeks pregnant!!
Life is good!!

Todd had to come to Portland late tonight to pick his sisters up from the airport.
(Isn't it nice that so many people are coming to stay with my kids?)
I thought this was a great day to plan a sleepover...
I bought a few small cross stitch kits for my kids to work on when they visit.
Drew is stitching two little blue baby feet.  Anna is stitching Home Sweet Home.
cute kids.
Love these guys!!
